AROUND THE WEB:

— More than two years after Donald Trump went on a Twitter rant about Floyd Mayweather, the president-elect took time to pose for a picture with the boxing champion.

Mayweather stopped by Trump Tower in New York on Wednesday and took a photo with Trump and his son, Donald Jr.

Trump was vocal on Twitter about Mayweather’s controversial win over Marcos Maidana in their fight in May 2014.

— President Barack Obama announced the winners of the Presidential Medal of Freedom on Wednesday, and Vin Scully was surprised to learn he is one of them.

The legendary Dodgers broadcaster received a call from White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest informing him of his win.

Scully’s reaction? “Are you sure?”

The president awards the Medal of Freedom to those who have made “meritorious contributions to the security or national interests of the United States, to world peace, or to cultural or other significant public or private endeavors.”

Scully, who served as the voice of the Dodgers for 67 years, is one of 21 recipients who will receive the award at the White House on Nov. 22. Basketball legends Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Michael Jordan also made the list.

— Mets pitcher Jeurys Familia was arrested in October for domestic violence after he allegedly scratched his wife Bianca Rivas’ chest and bruised her right cheek.

Now, the 911 call placed by Rivas has been released and reveals she said Familia was “kind of drunk” and “going crazy” during the incident.

“My husband had a little bit of alcohol, and he’s going crazy,” Rivas told the dispatcher in the recording released Wednesday.

“All right. Your husband is drinking and you’re in a dispute with him?” the dispatcher asked.

Rivas repsonded, “Yeah. He’s drinking. He’s kind of drunk.”

Someone from the New Jersey home shared by Familia and Rivas called 911 twice and hung up before a dispatcher called back five times and Rivas answered and requested help.

QUOTE OF THE DAY: “I honestly don’t care. I’m not the one that made that decision as far as who wins the Cy Young. All I know is I’ve got a lot of people around me right now that I love very much and have been instrumental in my success in getting to this point, and on top of that we’ve got some really good bottles of wine that still need to be drank. There’s not really a concern in my mind.” — Rick Porcello, on Kate Upton’s tweets complaining about her fiance Justin Verlander losing the American League Cy Young Award to Porcello

HAPPY BIRTHDAY: Darnell McDonald (38), Tom Seaver (72)
